This is one of many attempts at blogging. You will likely find errors in spelling, structure, etc. It won't be perfect here. But it will be a place to share news and tips, to discuss and learn. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I hope to.

Potty Training 12/17/2007

Yesterday, morning, Lolo used the potty again!! I woke him up in the morning to use it and he very quickly told me he was done. I sent him into his room and after a few moments he said, I have to go! and he ran back into the bathroom. Then he just as quickly he said he was done and sure enough, he had gone potty. Of course, we celebrated. Very cool.

Spin!!

While Mommy and Daddy are trying to figure out the camcorder on the new phone, I'll be over here dancing.

Potty Training 12/16/2007

We hadn't potty trained all day. Then this evening I sent Lolo in to have a seat and I went into the kitchen. He showed up in the kitchen moments later with a big smile on his face. I told him to go back to the potty and he told me that he went peepee. I went back to the bathroom and took him along with me. Sure enough, there was peepee in the potty!!! Lolo triumphs. We celebrated really hard! It was awesome. We clapped and cheered and Lolo did a potty victory dance.

Potty Training 12/15/2007

Wow, that was hard. 4 pairs of undies, 3 pairs of pants and 2 pull ups in an 8 hour period.

Ice Cream of Love

Chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, dark chocolate ice cream and chocolate syrup. Mix well. Share with your husband.

2007 Chicago Marathon

Lily and Ryan's Mom

2007 Chicago Marathon

How many folks do you know who can work a pair of ears like my girl, Lily?

Hot Marathon Man

Ryan did awesome and finished the race before they had the cancel it. The temperatures were dangerous and deadly that day soaring to 88 degrees which is insane for an October marathon in Chicago. Ryan ran with the Inspiration Corporation team and surpassed his fundraising goal. We were excited to be with him that day so we had church at the marthon. On hand to celebrate his victory from Family of Hope CC were Pastor AJ, Armon, Ebony, Kenon, Lew, Tara, Jason and me.

I am in the bean!

News brief! Lawrence switched to the toddler bed after climbing out of his crib yesterday. AND he can open the fridge!

Hanging out with Team Gray

Beloved cousins, Angie and Curtis and their wonderful children, came to visit us on Saturday, September 1st. In attendence for an afternoon feast and some good family time were Team Gray, Mom, Langston and Ryan. We grilled burgers, brats and kielbasa. Sides included Dad's potato salad(my favorite!) and a baked veggie thing I threw together (turned out good!). For desert we had popsicles, brownies and some really great cookies from Yani (chef Yani). We hung out, talked politics, sports, current events and played games. Lolo had a ball playing in the backyard with Imani, Joy and Esteban. Dad showed up later that evening and we had great conversation with him as well. It was a wonderful day, I'm so glad they came. I'd love to head north soon to visit Angie and Curtis so that we can hang out one more time before the weather turns.

My Very Own Laptop

Yesterday, we got a laptop for school. I'm so happy. We got a good deal (mail in rebate, etc). Office Depot of all places. Just need to keep Lolo's fingers off the OFF button.

Memoirs

I just finished Memoirs of a Geisha. I enjoyed the beginning and the middle much more than the end. I remember going on YouTube and seeing a whole bunch of commentary from Asian comedians who might have hated the movie. The commentaries are funny. Comments like boring, the Geisha is played by a Chinese woman, you know, things like that. I get how that might just be irritating.

Corporate Challenge: 3.5 miles in 01:20:35

I had to add this. May 27, 2007 from one of my other blogs:
I’m on cloud nine. Thursday, I walked the Corporate Challenge. It was so cool. Lewis, Lolo, Ayanna and Mendy all came to support me. Mendy walked it with me. It was a 3.5 mile route in downtown Chicago. It was so fun. I took my cane in my backpack, just in case I needed it. We took our time and talked and enjoyed the scenery as we walked. It was such a wonderful experience and a beautiful sister moment for Mendy and I. I thought we finished dead last but I found out I was wrong. Everyone was cleaning up and having parties at their tents and I was getting tired so I told Mend, forget it, that I wanted to go my company tent but then we started talking about the finish line. Maybe I should finish. I think you should. Where is it? And she pointed. It was SO close!! I was like, “give me my cane!” And I took off!!! Mendy was not expecting that so she had to speed up some to catch me. Seeing that finish line, really gave me energy!! And the folks who had finished already were partying by them so Im hearing Crystal Waters singing, “100%, Pure Love” so we just kicked it to the finish line to the beat!! Three people who saw me cross cheered for me. Another guy saw my leg and then said. “You go, champion!” It was awesome. I called my Dad, then my mom! I was so feeling it. I’m still feeling it!! Lew hugged me! I love my husband!!! Ayanna hugged me! It was such a good moment. So I completed the 3.5 mile course in 1 hour, 20 minutes and 35 seconds and only used my cane for the last block and a half. Over the moon, dude. So now I’m looking for my next one. I also have some long range goals for some serious distance challenges….stay tuned. Life is so exciting. I feel like I’ve had a personal breakthough. Thank you, Jesus!!!

I just signed up for go blogger.

Mobile blogging might become my new addiction.

Amazing

So I really thought this blog was lost to me forever! I lost the password and just couldn't get on it and I was so sad. Now looka here! I'm back. Yey.

Avon Walk for Breast Cancer - June 2-3, 2007

http://walk.avonfoundation.org/site/PageServer?pagename=chic_home_2k7

Okay, so I just became an Avon lady and I'm thinking about doing the Avon Walk for Breast I don't think there is a big name walk for Osteo Sarcome. But watch out when I blow up, they'll be a walk. I mean a cancer that takes your leg should have a walk, shouldn't it!!!! Okay, end rant.
Its 2 days and 39 miles. Okay, don't panic, they have training and they have walking buddies to show you how to do it. I really want to do this and am thinking about setting up a team. I mean its over 4 months away so why not, right? Okay, so think about that. Maybe this could be a big summer Charity thing and an excuse to make Bella-Chicago T-shirts. Bella-Chicago is a networking group that I'm trying to get going...i have design ideas.

I'd like to get a group together from all ages and walks of life to walk, be crew, volunteer and donate. I think that would be so awesome. I like doing walks. I feel really good doing them, raising money for good causes and fighting disease - especially Diabetes and Cancer...MS is another one.

I'm thinking that the one legged girl doing a 39 mile walk is a great way to raise money for charity, who do you know that isn't going to donate when I ask them. They are also going to ask me if I'm crazy but they'll donate.

To quote the 'great poet-philosphers,' SaltNPepa, "She use what she got to get whatever she don't got.."

I must think I'm funny

Lew will be amused by the title of the blog, that's for sure. Okay, so here is yet another attempt at blogging my world, life, family, etc. My cousin Angie keeps asking me when I'm going to do this so here I go...again. I will try to do this weekly. I will try to spew as much creativity as possible and I will try to enjoy myself. The last one is not usually an issue. We'll see how it goes. I also plan to post some old thoughts and blog entries from my previous attempts at this so stay tuned.
